Ian joins Tullow with a wealth of international oil and gas experience having worked with BP plc for 23 years. A Chartered Accountant, most recently he has worked as the Group Vice President for Planning, reporting to the Group CEO and Executive Team. Ian has held a number of other senior positions within BP including Upstream CFO, Commercial Director of BP’s supply and trading business and Vice President for Finance in the USA, where he led the Group Treasury function and was simultaneously BP’s CFO in the Americas.
Ian replaces Tom Hickey, who gave notice of his resignation on 28 April 2008. While Tom’s resignation from the Board will take effect on 1 September 2008, he will remain with Tullow until the end of September ensuring an effective transition of his responsibilities.
There are no matters requiring disclosure in respect of Ian Springett’s appointment under paragraph LR 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority or Rule 6.6.13 of the Irish Stock Exchange Listing Rules.
