Attendees included more than 20 representatives of publications such as the Daily Graphic, the Ghana News Agency, Joy FM and Citi FM.
The convention was organised by PenplusBite and the Ghana Journalists Association and was aimed at ensuring a deeper understanding of the oil and gas sector in the Ghanaian media to support accuracy in reporting. Topics covered included global industry trends, oil and gas revenue management in Africa, the role of the Ghanaian Parliament in revenue management, and transparency and accountability. There was also a discussion on how to stimulate oil and gas reporting in the local media.
Gayheart Mensah, Communications and Investor Relations Manager for Tullow Ghana, also presented an overview of the Jubilee Operations since the discovery of oil and Tullow’s future in Ghana.

Guest speakers included the President of the GJA, Ransford Tetteh, editor of the Daily Graphic, Albert Kan- Dapaah, Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of Ghana’s Parliament, Major (rtd) Daniel Ablorh-Quarcoo, Chairman of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee and Mohammed Amin Adam, West Africa, oil and gas expert and Director of IBIS, a Dutch Non-Governmental Organization.
