Gabon is a key part of Tullow’s production and infrastructure-led exploration (ILX) portfolio.
In 2023 a cashless asset swap was agreed with that enabled Tullow to take more material positions in key fields, placing the Tchatamba facilities as a core hub for Tullow.

Also in 2023, the Government of Gabon approved the extension of several licences to 2046, reflecting the future potential of the fields and the longevity of the Tchatamba facilities.

Current activities

Production from Gabon contributed c,12,200 bopd to Tullow’s non-operated portfolio in 2023.

During 2024, operations in Gabon will focus on infill drilling to sustain production or minimise decline across the licences, as well as two ILX wells at the Simba licence.
