In 2014, Tullow Kenya launched a series of community engagement road shows aimed at creating awareness about oil and gas exploration activity, as well as Tullow’s planned operational activities.
The first road show took place at our community office in Lokichar, before travelling through Kasuroi and Karoge and finally stopping at our community office in Lochwaa, in Turkana South, located in Block 10BB, where we hosted a community concert. In order to effectively engage with the community, and ensure our message was culturally relevant, our field team partnered with local community theatre groups in Lokichar and Lodwar. Through this partnership we shared oil and gas information using drama, music, poetry and dance during the community events.
