Operations

French Guiana is a Département (overseas territory) of France, located on the north-eastern coast of South America between Suriname and Brazil.

Tullow holds a 77.5% interest in the Guyane Maritime licence which now covers 35,221 sq km. The licence was awarded in June 2001 and renewed in August 2007 and an extensive exploration programme has been carried out. To date over 9,000 km of 2D seismic data and 380 sq km of 3D seismic data have been recorded.  A CSEM programme was conducted in the block in late 2007 over the Matamata prospect, which is a possible drilling location for 2008.
