Appointment of International Business Managing Director

Tullow Oil plc, the international oil & gas exploration, development and production company is pleased to announce that Mr Brian O’Cathain has been appointed as Managing Director of its international business, Tullow Oil International, with effect from 1st November 2002. He will be based in the Dublin office, headquarters of the international division.

Brian O’Cathain, 42, is a geologist and petroleum engineer by training. Prior to joining Tullow, Mr O’Cathain’s most recent position was with Enterprise Oil, where he was the Managing Director of its Irish subsidiary, Enterprise Energy Ireland, responsible for the Corrib Field development. He began his industry career with Shell International in 1984 as a petroleum engineer. In 1991 he joined Enterprise Oil, where he spent the majority of his time working on acquisitions and divestments and corporate strategy, prior to his move to Enterprise Energy Ireland in 2000.

Commenting on the appointment, Aidan Heavey, Chief Executive of Tullow said:
