EHS Management
Tullow manages its EHS performance through the Group's IMS, which provides a disciplined framework for the management of environment, health, safety and security throughout the Group. Each business unit and asset is responsible for implementing systems and processes that comply with the requirements of the IMS. Tullow Oil plc's certification to ISO 14001 provides external verification of the IMS and this is complemented by an internal EHS audit programme to ensure that compliance with the IMS is effective at an operational level. The IMS offers a high level of business assurance through:
- A systematic approach to critical business activities;
- Clear assignment of responsibilities and accountability;
- High standards for business and EHS performance linked to Group EHS objectives;
- Legislative and regulatory compliance throughout all operations;
- Sound risk management, planning and decision-making; and
- Efficient and cost-effective planning and conduct of operations.
Further information on the IMS is contained in the 2006 CSR Report.
