Crisis Management
Tullow operates a 24/7 on-call crisis management system and conducts an annual programme of training and simulation exercises for the Crisis Management Team (CMT). During 2006, this team participated in 11 ‘live’ training events. Each exercise provides the opportunity to test our systems and for the teams to practice their skills in a controlled environment. Feedback is gathered to continually improve performance. Training was also held for the CMT telephone media response people, including an exercise with real journalists. The priority for Tullow is to ensure the preparedness of our teams and systems in the event that we need to mobilise the CMT in response to an incident. These exercises are designed to test the ability of the crisis management team, the preparedness and robustness of the crisis management plan and the effectiveness of the high-tech crisis management facilities at the Group’s London office. Our goal is to be proactive, prompt and effective in our response to any serious incident involving any Tullow operations. On Thursday, 11 January, 2007, Tullow’s CMT was mobilised to deal with a situation with potentially major implications for the Group’s business. |
