Tullow is awarded a Business in the Community ‘Big Tick’
We are delighted to have been awarded a Business
in the Community ‘Big Tick’ award a
£1million investment that was undertaken to commingle
the Hewett and LAPS gas flows. Full details about this project
are on
page 21 of the CSR Report, or you can view
our submission. Specific environmental benefits
of the commingling project are:
- 55% reduction in CO2 emissions;
- Reduction in other GHG emissions, namely Methane;
- Reduction in noise from the plant;
- 56% reduction in fuel gas requirements for compression;
- A decrease in the energy required to operate the terminal;
- A reduction in the risk of a major environmental incident with the reduction in the number of rotating pieces of equipment on site; and
- A reduction in chemical and oil inventory held on-site, reducing potential spills.
