In November 2018, Tullow announced that it had agreed with Discover Exploration Ltd (“Discover”) to farm into blocks 35, 36 and 37, offshore the Union of the Comoros (“the Comoros”) in the Indian Ocean. Following the completion of this transaction, Tullow will operate the blocks and hold a working interest of 35% while Discover will hold 65%. The blocks comprise an offshore area of 16,063 sq km and ERCE estimated in a recent Competent Person’s Report that the blocks hold gross mean prospective resources of 4.5 billion barrels of oil. Tullow looks forward to working with the Government of the Comoros and its new partners in preparing for the first ever acquisition of 3D seismic in the Cormoros. This follows a 3,900 sq km 2D seismic programme conducted by Discover in 2014.
