Growing local participation through foreign investment

Expro, an international oil field services company, has been awarded with a three year contract with Tullow Ghana, to provide technical services for the Jubilee field operations and the Tweneboa-Enyenra-Ntomme (TEN) development project.

Expro’s services include completions on new wells for Jubilee, as well as interventions and remedial work.

As part of its contract with Tullow, Expro has delivered a local content development plan, creating opportunities for Ghanaian businesses and local talent.   Since they began working in Ghana in 2008, Expro have invested $1 million in establishing an 8,300m² world class operating facility in Takoradi. In 2013, they spent $8 million procuring on goods and services from Ghanaian companies. Over 70% of Expro’s 115 strong workforce is Ghanaian, including 20 graduates. The company invests $200,000 in the training and development of its staff annually.
